Re: OUR NEW BABY BOUNCING Z
Today we drive the car down the highway for a bit to use up old fuel and add some new stuff . Hoping to go through 2 tanks which I am sure we will do easily . Doing a stop and go highway run first heading east , then a westward 2 hr freeway run back home .

Re: OUR NEW BABY BOUNCING Z
Well I was so surprised . That car gets amazing gas mileage . I think we were able to at least use up one tank and a bit more of fuel . We were babying the car tho because we are ZR-1 newbs lol . A few more drives and I think I'll get the hang of it . All that rubber really moves the car around . I settled on Sport being the best all round setting for highway and street driving .
I have only ever driven 4 and 5 speed transmissions and they were all Honda's / Hyundai's and Susuki's so bit of a huge difference right there . The visual out of the car is quite something . I was going to install a backup camera but there is no need . Backing up is quite easy and there are literally no blind spots with this vehicle . The last C4 I drove had a roll cage in it so with a cage not being there I was very impressed with line of site . Other than that the drive was great . Some 2 lane roads to our destination and home via the 401 . Kinda tired now . Probably from the excitement of being in a ZR-1 and not from the drive lol ... |

Re: OUR NEW BABY BOUNCING Z
Congrats on the new to you Beast!! Everyone knows that the Polo Green ones are the fastest I babied mine for the first couple of drives as well. But then said to myself, you gotta exercise those secondaries, and stretch her legs now and then. Every time I get in mine I smile.....Welcome to the club and congrats on the beautiful Z. You will find people turn their heads, pull even with you on the highway to get a look. Even pumping gas you will get " awesome Corvette or is that really a ZR-1?"

Re: OUR NEW BABY BOUNCING Z
Greens are the fastest eh ! I knew it Awesome ...
I did my first little tuneup to the car just a few days before we picked it up . The usual culprit of the torn gas fill location boot . Very easy to do but I was so nervous , my hands were shaking because I was actually working on a ZR-1 . A very simple task . 4 screws , lift off the fill lid , remove the torn ruuber fill boot , install new one and not forget drain hose to remove rain water so as not to go inside the fuel filler . There was a little bit of rust around the fuel gauge/filtre bolt assembly so I laced it with some WD40 and let that soak in a bit before I placed the new rubber ... |
