Re: GE Nighthawk Install
So i installed my LED headlights and the new gear and bearings. They look great and are way brighter. Now my only question is for all you people that re-wire or solder the relay to get your fog lights working....is that only so you can use your fog lights and headlights?
Will it cause any electrical issues if I leave my headlights as is without re-wiring or soldering anything? I am not sure if I want to do that yet as IDK if i'll even use the fogs, I've yet to test them on the road yet. So i am just wondering if electrically it will not cause any issues to leave my headlights the way they are. |

Re: GE Nighthawk Install
I found an easy way to ground the fog light relay on the '90 and '91 cars.
The green wire can be accessed at the high beam switch. The high beam switch is located close to the bottom of the steering column. One of the connectors on the high beam switch has two green wires. Cut one of them. If you are lucky the high beams will still work. That means that you cut the wire that goes to the fog light relay. Connect the wire that was cut to ground. Then the fog lights can be turned on/off independent of the high beams. If the green wire that you cut causes the high beams to become inoperative, reconnect it. It's the other green wire that goes to the relay. |

Re: GE Nighthawk Install
So what is the easiest and best solution today for LED Headlights and Foglights that match in terms of color?
Is there any setup that is just a plug and play system requiring no wiring mods?

Re: GE Nighthawk Install
Are these GE nighthawks still available? I really like them and would like to buy but can?t seem to find this brand that specifies it?s for a C4. If not available any alternatives that are GOOD quality?

Re: GE Nighthawk Install
I converted to GE nighthawks in 2017 by using the elegant method from Circuit Doctor and found it easy, worked well, and didn?t involve pulling apart the dash or turn signal switch to ground out the green wire.
