Didn't get to drive the Z today… it's stored in another location. But… did finish building up a 'new' Cannondale 29" mountain bike from the frame up. Some parts from the old bike (cracked frame), some parts new. Cannondale Lefty 29ers are such sweet machines -- if you're into mountain biking.

Now… badly need to install an LT5…

Since you mentioned LT5 I guess we are still on Topic
Have to ask.....are those the Disc Brakes on the front and rear (The disk about 6 inch diameter I see on front and rear axle)?

And have to ask......there is NO Yoke on the Front.....is that what I am seeing?

I ride a Mondia Road Bike so am not so familiar with Off Road Bikes except Do ride my Raptor 700 and Raptor 660 ATV Offroad (Both Modified)

Cliff, Didn't you know Cannondale is a subsidiary of BMW?

Disc brakes too. (Ami and I have Cross Trails (by Specialized) set up the same way. The disc brakes are ever so sweet! Best thing to come along on bicycles in a while, IMO.

Oh... JK about BMW!

It is great to see others here enjoy bikes of some sort!

I must confess there a those beautiful days where one is totally conflicted between hitting the trails, riding a road bike, or slamming oneself and/or passenger back into the seat listening to the music of an LT5.

As Paul said those are disk brakes and they are definitely the way to go. Very similar to the setup on the ZR-1 (to continue to stay on topic ) That is, the brake master cylinder/reservoir is in the lever mechanism on the handlebars. The brake lines run from there to the associated brake caliper. The caliper has a piston on each side that pushes against brake pads which engage the rotor. This bike is set up with 185mm disks on the front and 160mm on the rear.

The brakes can grip HARD, so going down hill and maneuvering, usually one is feathering them constantly, favoring the rear. Besides stopping power, another advantage is when the wheel rim gets wet or muddy, where the old rim brakes would not be nearly as effective, the disk brakes stay dry and working.

I am not sure what you mean by the word 'yoke,' but maybe it's the front setup. Cannondale developed a Lefty front fork which when I first starting riding it (on the 2011 F29er bike bought used a few years ago), soften things like a cadillac. Well, maybe not quite, but it beat hands down a high quality dual (regular) fork. The Lefty is solid (no flex) and has needle bearings - so super smooth.

By the way, the tires I run now are tubeless… just like our ZR-1. I had on a previous mountain bike regular tubes and was getting a flat (usually a small object, thorn, etc.) every 3 to 4 rides on the trails. With tubeless, which runs with a liquid sealant, like Stans, not a single flat in 2 1/2 years of riding. Plus you can run on a lower pressure, adding grip authority on dirt, rocks, roots, etc.

And that's probably a LOT more than y'all wanted to know! But thanks for asking!?!

Nope. Still on top. Going to be 40-45 degrees with some rain today and then gets cold again with precip so it will just sit for now. --Bob

I couldn't resist taking it around my subdivision last weekend since there hasn't been any salt laid down here this winter away from the main roadways; it's the ultimate cheat in northern climates to get Zee seat time Nov-March. I had just finished installing 15 interior LEDs (all except instrument panel). Now awaiting arrival of fogs and four reverse light 1156-replacement LEDs. The recent thread on headlights has been great - LED headlights will be my late-Feb early-Mar project.

Just made reservations at Holiday Inn in Bowling Green for the Gathering. Life is good!

Got lucky and was able to take my 95 (also Torch Red) to the track. Was close to 70 here. Nobody on street tires had much grip off the line but I was able to get a 12.8 out of her.

It's been pretty decent weather here as well, but my work schedule has been 12 days on 2 off, so haven't had time to get her out. Not for lack of wanting to - just too many things to do and not enough time. She been sleeping since end of October...

Nice bike. Not a mountain bike, but got my eye on this one.
