Re: So who is driving their Z tomorrow for Collector Car Appreciation Day July 10th 2
My LT5 stayed at home, but I drove my 78 Pace Car to work and got stuck in traffic.. Not fun as I live in Az. and the a/c was low on charge due to a factory defect that no one ever took care of. At this point it is not worth removing the fender to repair. However, I did take the Z out late last night to stretch her legs. Of course upsetting the wife I I usually do.

I did go to the gathering last night at Kmart/mixteca not too many car as it was still pretty hot out. Here in Az it is reverse from the rest of the country as every hibernates during winter and we have beautiful weather. Then the summer comes around and makes you hate it.

I drove mine! But there's nothing really exceptional about that.

I did not see a lot of folks driving their collector cars yesterday so I guess not so well known yet. I think it said 6th year?

Yes, I got it, and it looks very nice. You probably should be charging more money for it. :-) My car is high up on jack stands(*), probably for a while. I'm going to try and tackle several projects at the same time - mostly headers, exhaust and radiator, but also shifter, steering pin and maybe vacuum leak and A/C squealing. * I bought some big, wide HD jack stands for this project.

Re: So who is driving their Z tomorrow for Collector Car Appreciation Day July 10th 2
Yeah, Craig. I'm sure I'm not the first (or last).
Currently, the A/C squeals so much so it hasn't been as comfortable to drive around (except at night), so I figured this is a good time for the work. Meanwhile, my Miata is a great DD. I'll be doing another track day with the ZR-1 in September, so that will help me get things done in time. Saw your center muffler plan in the other thread. I considered that but wasn't sure if I could find one that fit in the tunnel. I decided to go with SW X-pipe, which, I guess is a made-to-order piece, so I wont get it until August. Hopefully we'll both end up with systems we like. I'm going from stock, too. |
