I notice my car tends to ping on CA 91 octane when it gets over 90 degrees out (and I took some timing out of the curve twice around torque peak) so mostly it becomes a beach cruiser in August since it is never over 78 degrees down there. Maybe I'll break down and do the 180 thermostat and a bigger rad someday. In these situations I have to sadly find the power under the primary injector part of the curve...
As I mentioned before it didn't ping in Phoenix in 90 degree air- but they are at 1100 ft elevation and perhaps the gas is better. |
