A positive for these cars for sure was the fact that many couldn't drive and they visited the shops repeatedly. The '84+ cars were quite a treat also. |

I found a 1967 coupe 427/400 with A/C had 56 k original miles. Found it right before Christmas.
Even has the tank sticker and protect o plate. Nelson007

Re: Looking for another classic
Nothing against Trans Ams; I actually think they're pretty cool, especially the SD models. But the question is whether you should buy the most collectible edition of THE premium American sports car - the best of the best - or a Trans Am? I must be missing something here. Am I not accounting for a large price disparity between the two models you're considering?
One other factor that you may want to consider, aside from everything else that's been mentioned, is the fact that the T/A is long since discontinued and since its manufacturer is also no more, it will not be pulling a Lazarus act, as did the Camaro. This certainly has a negative effect on values and resale, although exactly how much remains to be seen. Once again, T/As are certainly cool cars, but I'm sure you know that you're comparing apples and oranges here. Good luck. |
