if they are JEal cams they tend to fail; unless the car has good oil flow to the cams

the early jeal cams were fine. it was the later ones that were bad. If it hasn't broken by now it's probably ok

Billet cams were the issue; its hit and miss. I have a Jeal cam car on my lift right now

Al, My 415 car had Jeal cams in it. The cams are in the 441 now. They have @ 50K miles on them with no problem. Use oil with a high zinc compound in it and forget about it. As stated above the early cams are fine.

Re: What HP/TQ do older Cammed 368's Post?
This is the note Geoff sent to me when I asked...I was trying to save the cams in my car. My cams seemed fine, but they are the Billet Steel. This is why I was asking in another thread about possible oil passage issues in early production heads; causing lifter tick..maybe even the lobe failure I posted. I was curious if the cam failures seen by some were 1)always early production heads 2)the same cylinder.
Corey Henderson also has Jeal EA22 cams and no issues... For the record Geoff is a super nice guy also pretty accomplished....Jaguar XJ220 program, ZR-1, and now the Dodge Hellcat. So if you have the cast version and or billet no oil pressure issues you are good... Hi, we used nitrided EN40B steel for the first run and chill cast iron for everything else. The issue is not heat treatment but engine oil pressure. If your engine had factory oil pressure the steel cams last just fine. Anything else they don't which is why we went to CCI Hope that helps It would be nice to see Geoff come back into the ZR-1 community

Lee,
Can you please explain factory oil pressure further?
