Default Re: New Pilot Sports

I just had Costco install a set of four Pilot Sports for about $1,700 total installed. They seem to have balanced them fine (they don't have a Road Force balancer) but I will see what the trip to BG is like. They also were extra careful with the TPMS sensors and used two guys to get the tires on and off. (They said they are familiar with the band sensors as many Fords still use them). Also torqued to factory 100 ft lb spec (They even have a torque wrench calibration device that they use every morning to check the wrenches), and made me return after 25 miles to re check torque. Great warranty including roadside assistance for a flat. Tires pressure was spot on spec. Did a couple of quick runs and can say they definitely have much better traction than my old Sumis. With the Sumis they spun well into second gear. With the Pilot Sports I did not notice much wheel spin in 1st and with the shift to second the car really jumped, no wheel spin. The Registry's price for the same tires is still a very good one but I decided to go with the entire package for only a couple hundred more this time.--Bob
