Yes both 94s will interchange

Ok, thanks. I'll have to call Bilstein and see if they will pay to ship them back to me once I ship them out (I'm guessing they include return shipping in the cost of the rebuild, but we'll see).

If you will, post what they say and the number to call. This is on my project list for this winter.

Ok, I called Bilstein here's their address and number.
AFTERMARKET & MOTORSPORTS HEADQUARTERS - WEST
ThyssenKrupp Bilstein of America
Poway CA. 92064
United States
Tel.: +1-800-537-1085
Their website:http://www.bilstein.com/
I spoke to Juan (he's the one who rebuilds the shocks) their prices just went up within the last 6 months. It is now $145/ea to rebuild a shock, which also includes relabeling but not repainting (they'll clean it up the best they can). One thing that is not included is if the rod was damaged (he explained that if the internal rod seals were bad and moisture got in there they have to be replaced) a new rod assembly is an additional $65. Return shipping is not included. It really may be cheaper to buy a complete new set than have 4 rebuilt after shipping costs. But if you want to retain originality there's a definitly a cost to it. It's possible they may lower prices for a group buy. If there's interest, I'll look into it.
P.S. If you want to rebuild, fill out the work order form (it's a downloadable PDF) from the U.S. site. There is also a 10-13 week turnover time.

Thanks for the info. So, now we're looking at $650+ with shipping. And that's assuming no rods need to be replaced. AND a 3 month wait.

Youch!

We should explore the group buy. Count me in if we can get it done.

Wow...it has really gotten expensive. I will say that a refresh on mine really made the car ride a lot better, but there is a point where one would just go to something aftermarket using the $700 as a down payment against that.

I think I'd have to buy some cheap aftermarket ones to put on while mine are being rebuilt. Winter doesn't even last 3 months down here. The ECM would throw a code without the FX3 shocks on, right?
