No offense at all--just good advice! When Yun read out the date code and said two were 10 years old and two were 11, time to get new shoes!!!!
Just purchased the car last year and tires looked good but I should have paid attention to the date codes on them. I never checked them. I am waiting on a call back for some new Michelin Pilot Sport PS2.

Checked online for prices for the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2-Viper parts was recommended but cost was $1545 delivered - no hazzard warranty available and still have to have them mounted and balanced. Costco will special order them, takes 3 days and price including MD state tax, mounting, balance, nitrogen fill AND road hazzard insurance included $1682 all in and out the door. Think that might be the way to go.

Charlie, you can get a set of stock-size Kumho Ecsta XS tires for about $900 delivered from Tire Rack. Installed would probably be under $1100. I think you'll find they are about as grippy as they come.

Rich has a set on his Fikse's, ask him what he thinks of the grip.

Charlie,
Bob's right, they are pleny grippy. I can break them loose but I have to really lay into it. Not a bad choice.
Rich

Have Kumho Ecstas on my '89...decent tire at a good price...

Glad everyone had fun at the drag day...wish I could have gone. Hopefully will be able to go to the fall drag day...

Hey Charlie, if you are headed to Cars and Coffee in Great Falls on Saturday, you are welcome to drive my car with Vredstein Ultrac Sessentras in stock ZR-1 size that cost $769 for four shipped. These are the grippiest tires with most straight line traction and control I have ever bought. Also, they have the smoothest and most predictable at-limit behaviour, with huge grip in corners on the autocross and exit ramps.
I have autocrossed with these tyres 3 times and each time won my class, including at Corvette's at Carlisle last year. They are top rated in Europe and also extremely quiet and smooth riding with a 350 or so tread rating.
