I put a set on my '94 (LT1) for $515. I thought they held good. They had the fronts on backwards, and it didn't take long to figure out first time it rained. Scary. Forwards, they channelled out the water good. Kind of ugly tho'...

I heard how awful the sumitomo tires were and believed it until I bought a set in an emergency situation. got a flat going down to the gathering on the runcraps and had a spare set of amolds with me and it was almost as cheap to get an entire set of the sumis than replace one GY F1 EMT runflat. I got a SET of them for 445 vs having to pay over 425 for ONE GY
to tell the truth, they hook better than the high dollar GY F1 EMT runflats I have on the LSV ZR-1!!! granted, these are new sumi vs run flats that are almost down to the wear bars, and the sumis are stock 315/35/17 vs a 325/30/19 runcrap. bottom line is that they aren't a super high quality tire but really aren't such a bad bang for the buck. not a bad tire to just roll around, just don't expect them to be competitive with a tire costing 4X as much or more. they aren't nearly as BAD as I was led to believe and I'd run them in a heart beat in lieu of the FT runcraps which I have learned to hate with a passion. EMT stands for "expensive malfunctioning tire" the EMTs really don't hook, or ride well at all, and honestly I think the sumi's handle better too!!! the EMTs work ok on a C5, not so good on the C4, and especially not with coil overs. sidewalls are just too stiff and in the cold weather the GYs are downright dangerous with 500 rwhp. again, the sumi's not so bad. next go around, I'm going with the Nitto NT05 as they are one of the few tires that fit the 19' CCW 505s going with a 335/30/19 and 275/35/19 front as they are similar diameter and from what I've heard from most they hook and handle pretty good and are a bit cheaper than alternatives from Michelin (probably the best, but pricey) or piirelli (also very pricey)

Not sure what you are looking for I ran the Kumho V700 for years on the street with no issues. It was a really good tire IMHO for the price only drawback, and this is with any Kumho high performance tire I have found, that when pushed hard and to the limits it becomes a bit greasy.
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....del=Ecsta+V700 I did get cought in the ran once or twice with them and it wasn't bad. I did not have them shaved but did have them heat cycled. Good luck in the search. ![]() Daniel |

Would the M&H 325/45/17 drag radial fit on these cars? Ive seen them on some 17x11 rims mounted on Camaros.
Kuhmo makes a 315/35/17 as well. peace Hog |
