Interesting you said that about the road.

I'm still getting used to the rate of acceleration and the very high speeds the car can run. 0-110 mph now is very comfortable for me to handle and experience but the one time so far that I ran it hard on a 2.3 mile long country stretch with no driveways, intersections, straight and flat good paved road up to around 140 mph it all seemed very fast, I wondered at the time whether the road was more crowned than I thought and while it worked okay, for me the 205 fps all had tiny elements of being just a little bit of a blur as a first time experience.

Since then I've gone back to that stretch several times and run it not like a drag strip run getting to speeds in a hurry but taking my time and watching the road, fx3 set in race and gaining experience above 100 mph to 125 mph or so several times. What a difference to my relative inexperience that has made, more time to sort of process and incorporate the experience better for me. I now am just focusing on the driving experience and the road and getting very used to 110-125 mph. I run it one way, drive a little north on sunny days then come back a little later and run it the opposite direction.

I know it's just gaining experience I had never had before but the car handles perfectly and the difference between handling it in a rush and doing it this way has allowed me to get much more comfortable driving the car at these speeds. It will bode well as a base of experience for getting on it both faster and, as safe, at the higher speeds. I doubt I'll ever drive it above 150 mph but I'd like to do that a few times. 140ish was pretty awesome.

Probably something that new people go through but your comment about the road is so true....it now looks nice and flat with little crown and is much more an experience on good road than I thought fleetingly that first time.

The road didn't change, it was me getting used to a motor and car that will flat haul *** especially once you get into third gear.......The ZR-1 continues taking me to school......

I think I read somewhere that when you buy a 2013 ZR-1 you are encouraged to go to a driving school first before tapping that 638 hp. I can see why that might be so now.

That alone must tell you there's way more capacity in that motor than stock. And the simple porting results are another.

Im always worried to drive mine in below freezing temps.

Isnt it hard on the all aluminum engines to expand and contract from the heat and cold? ---
