Re: Reverse Lock-out rattle
Stock shifter is fine, just wanted to make the Z mine. That is the problem when you live in WAZOO land, get to see and drive many other Z's and the mind starts to get ideas. It is only money.................

Re: Reverse Lock-out rattle
Short throw is one of the best mods IMO. I like the very positive mechanical feel you get to changing gears. Compared to the stock shifter, it snic snic.

Re: Reverse Lock-out rattle
Just to throw out my personal experience. I didn't have any problem with the stock shifter either, it always felt good just maybe not the shortest of throws you might expect from a "sports car".
That said I got a decent deal on a a Hurst and bought one on a whim. The WAZOO guys installed it for me earlier this year along with several other upgrades and I have to say I love the new shift action. It's now what I would call a "true" sports car action. Snick! Snick Snick! Snick! That's the only way to describe it. Short, precise and yet not obnoxiously heavy or overwhelming. It takes a little while to "reprogram" your hand but no big deal and once you do, man it feels good! Thanks again to everyone in the WAZOO! Dave P.S. I should add that I was a little worried about losing the reverse lockout but it really hasn't been an issue at all.

Re: Reverse Lock-out rattle
I drove all of them none are good for drag racing.
All stock here. Anybody have Bill B's modified stock shifter? Haven't tried one yet. Pete

I tried the Hurst design (actually designed by Chris somebody who I met at BG) and didn't care for it. Looks too are off. The Hurst shifter looks like a poorsheet shifter or something out of a VW bug.
