Thankfully, here in IN, I live in the country and run a few gears every time I get behind the wheel. Normally just first and second gears. My car is so loud though, I fear that the county mounty will hear me and search for me. 3" B&B with Watsons.

The damn thing is Turquoise and sticks out like a sore thumb.

They talked about it but not sure if they are really doing it. At work we have E-Z pass in all the vehicles and our guys drive em as fast as they can and nobody has gotten any tickets because they would have to pay them their self.

As for the red light cameras there's a class action suit started because all the townships have to have them certified as per timing and such and it turns out that some , let me rephrase that MOST don't meet the certifications. They might just have to give back some of those millions they illegally stole from us.

Some of you guys live in f#cked up states. I can blast up to top speed anytime I want where I live. The un attended toll roads are totally empty early in the morning and late at night. But I've done it so many times that the thrill has kinda diminished. Plus I don't want to push my luck to much. Not for fear of cops but for safety reasons. A tire blowing out at over 181mph would not be good.

Did you ever watch the opposing traffic light and when it turns red you start to go a few seconds before your light turns green? Did that in Clementon, NJ and got a ticket in the mail a month later for $80. Took a while to figure what I did, cause I knew I didn't drive through any red lights. Pissed me off, wanted to fight it, but it's not worth losing a day's pay for it. Mark my words, eventually you won't be able to drive on turnpikes or toll roads unless you have EZ-pass. The system will be totally automated. When that happens automatic speeding tickets will follow. Sometimes technology sucks.

Maryland has adopted a law that speeding cameras are allowed where there is highway construction, coinciding with all the TARP money for highway construction. Literally, every major highway has a significant portion that has mile after mile of orange barrels signifying (future) construction plans, with very little actual construction going on... The only work I see is the erection of 100' tall poles with sophisticated speeding cameras atop to generate traffic revenues in the alleged construction areas. I can not go anywhere without having to set my cruise at 55 or 60mph. My friend has had 4 tickets from these cameras in the first month!

These types of threads get tiresome. We all know or are aware of speed limits, especially in our hometowns, yet we want to violate them with a second or third gear blast. You get caught, man up.

We know the red light cameras are there, it's in our jurisdictions, violate the law and get caught, man up! Construction zones, excessive speed, get caught, man up! Let's stop blaming others because of this or that and take responsibility for our own actions.

If you live in an area where you have these concerns, take the time to find a dragstrip, or join a club that has track days, or plan a weekend to venture out into the country and enjoy a safe cruise in the KOTH.

Let's stop blaming others for our misfortunes, I think we are old enough to know what's right.
