The injectors are original as they are black with a stainless steel clips. I will need to search here for instructions and parts best used. Do the spark plugs and wires need to be changed out at the same time. If yes what spark plugs are best?

My car's VIN last four digits are 1964.

I was hoping for a shop a little closer that San Antonio. But it is what it is.
I'm aware it's a haul, my wife is from Bourne (sp) and has family in huston, but going there will be beyond worth it. you're going to need new injectors soon.

Would you change out the injectors yourself or pay the bucks and have it done?

i'm swapping mine out in my garage next spring. but i've done it before. it's not hard, it's not involved but if you prefer to have someone else do it that's acceptable also. talk to corry and see what he charges

So that is what it looks like.

When I replace the injectors what else should I do when the plenum is off?

So how does the car run right now? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Pocketbook is the limit on what you should/can do. I don't think the plenum is that hard to pull myself. My wife did it just fine. Get the LT5 supplement and it walks you through it step by step. There are many items you can replace under the plenum while you are there. Coils, plug wires, starter, vacuum lines and many other items. If the car is running good, you might want to just wait. If you do the injectors yourself, you'll see it's pretty easy to pull the plenum.

If you decide to replace the injectors, I can recommend the injectors from FIC, I've had the rebuilt ones over 2 years now, no problems at all. $350 and you are good to go. http://fuelinjectorconnection.com/sh...ewCat&catId=68

We still need some pics though.
