Man, that sucks! I'd hate to think I'd have to do C5 Z06 brakes. I'm not getting rid of my Dymags though.

I guess I need to look at some Z's with C5 calipers.

How much for the Brembos, Dom?

I have GenII Dymags that will accept some huge brakes. I just don't know how huge????? They are 17x11 and 17x13 wheels.

I "think???" I want to stay with Corvette brake calipers and rotors, preferably.

Any advice?
Very doubtful you can fit C6 Z06 brakes. (rears maybe, but fronts almost certain they won't fit)

C6 Z06 brakes are very pricey.... If you go "cheap", they are 2k.

C5/C6 brakes are a great value @ under $600.

I just want to get an idea of what I need to buy next month at Carlisle. I plan on spending some serious $$$ on everthing I need ZR1. I want GM bigger brakes on the 92 project car. It would be nice to buy everything I need while I'm there.

I also need a perfect hood and front bumper assembly.

I think he and Al have Wilwoods. I would do the C6Z brakes as a straight up swap for the Brembos. You buy the C6Z brakes and adapters, I'll give you the Brembos w rotors and pads

I'm contemplating what to do. I just looked at the C5 Z06 calipers on ebay and the brackets for them. About $600 for that setup. Brembos are intriguing though.

Is the adapter hardware for the C4 pricey? Because for $2k you could buy all brand-new GM calipers, pads, and rotors shipped. Used should be considerably less than that.

I've been keeping an eye on them because I have a friend with a C6 in the market for them.

To the OP, it is the 14" rotor diameter and the fact that your wheels are only 17" in diameter that makes them unlikely to work. Not any kind of spoke to caliper clearance.

I thought the adapter was like $120ish for C4's. You could probably find used calipers for <$100, rotors can be had for like $25 per from NAPA, and then some Hawk pads for another $100 would put you well under $600.

You can also use C5 regular calipers or C6 regular calipers, to keep your options open when going used.

Is the upgrade for looks? Or for more braking capacity?

AUrora40, thanks. Actually looks and performance. Mostly looks though. I like the looks of a 2 piece rotor, drilled/slotted. I am understanding that a 13" rotor is my max size with the 17" Dymags. I'm ok with that.

May do the brackets and C5Z06 calipers.
