Awesome! I'll follow up. I graduated from JU! I get back there every now-and-then -- I'll be sure to give you a shout.

Using your '91 ECU label as a guide I believe you would find this information on your '92 label. I used some VIN information to get your ECU from the vehicle build information and it's recorded as 8001. I thought that unusual until I used your VIN to get some calibration information. I'm accustomed to seeing the 4 place "letter code" in the build information.

From that I believe you could maybe confirm on your faded "label" maybe the information. I assumed the 16163993 was available in '92 and used for reference. If it's not that it could still be a 1228331 but I have doubts.

LINE 1: SERV. NO. 16163993 --- AYWT
LINE 2: The "numeric" information on the "bar code"
LINE 3: 16168043 (THE ORIGINAL ASSEMBLY ECU)

Perhaps you can let me know how I did! I got the information from here after I identified the 8001 build.

I have no idea how to decode the "bar code" or LINE 2 information but I'd guess it's from the electronics build when assembled and maybe used during assembly line.

The first section of line 2 I'd think is the date code and perhaps the other section the serial number or assembler information.

Here's where I got the information after identifying the build. Go here and enter your VIN.

This is what I assumed your VIN is: 1G1YZ23J1N5800043

http://tis2web.service.gm.com/tis2web

On the first line the identifier 8001 that I got from the VIN build is a match. Keep clicking next and the information drop down!

BTW - The most current PROM for your car looks to be BPPA and I've got an NOS one in the box.

Awesome! Thanks for the info...I checked out the web site. Attached is a picture of the output. Does that match your results? I'm quite a newbie at this and don't have much of an idea what I'm looking at. If I had to guess I'd say you're on the money as far as the original sticker. I'm wondering if the ECU has been replaced?

Maybe somebody can post a picture of their '92 ECU sticker -- I'd like to compare the format...
