That would be pretty nice with 9.0 compression and closed deck for forced induction.

The only one I know that does the closed deck is Marc. The block work only is more then GC whole build

If you are talk forced power it would be $$ up and I would not recommend a cut crank and stock rods.
I had a 402 set up for 250-300 shot, and the crank was more then GC shortblock..

I know of another who does the closed deck.

Stock rods do not bother me on a fi build, depending on effective compression ratio. I would be more concerned with the block design, and crankcase ventilation on these motors than the rod, but that may just be me.

"most" rod failures I have seen were tuning disasters, oil starvation, or contamination based. I am talking in general here, not specific to the lt5. I do not have enough experinece with the lt5, nor have I seen rod failure on one due to fi. Of course, I really haven't seen many that were fi

For the uninitiated, what's the cost on doing these kind of mods? and what are the expected ballpark results? Just curious.

Post Not an upgrade...

LT-5 rods are not your typical regular passenger vehicle rods, fairly beefy. I wouldn't be in a hurry to change them out. Also, if you might be thinking about changing them out for a set of the China 'H'-beams that out there, do yourself a favor, that's not what I'd call an 'Upgrade' .
