Re: Taking my Z to the 1/8 mile track on Wednesday
i didnt see the 375. old guy i guess . if the da is less than 500 he might hit 89-90 but the unknown is 430s and street tires . going to need a very slow soft foot grasshopper . and maybe short shifting into second to avoid big wheel spin there .. if youi get et streets make sure you ck the ujoints before you go .if there are any zerks on the half shaft ujoints replace them before you go. breaking a 1/2 shaft u joint can be very distructive to ones wallet

I'm the same way which is why I can't remember my et. Just don't care that much about it. With that being said your making 20rwhp more than I was. You only weigh 20 lbs more and have 430s. I think your et is the crapshoot. Your mph has to be 90mph or better.

Re: Taking my Z to the 1/8 mile track on Wednesday
Going against the rules here And I'm going to post a actual 1/8 mile time slip from my stock ZR1. For me it's simple dyno your car let the car speak for itself and backup the dyno slip. I'm 156 and in the other lane 108 was gm's infamous blazer ss (don't know all about it but in the staging lanes the owner said something about high 11's) anyway results may vary! If it to small I'll fix later but it goes 60' 1.88 et 7.8 and 90.21 mph through stock mufflers owned the car since it was new.

Re: Taking my Z to the 1/8 mile track on Wednesday
thats impressive , the one thing about infineon is that the da is usually negitive which makes a big difference .plus their track prep is legendary.. a more standard et coming from both my cars that at the time had the same mods as you would be in the 8.2 range at about 88.5-89 mph . as pete will tell you our cars mile an hr goes up the better they hook .the da when i ran those times was 2500-3000 ft. i say again though the real hard thing for you will be to get the car to launch on street tires with your gears . any way it goes .HAVE A GREAT TIME

Re: Taking my Z to the 1/8 mile track on Wednesday
Just an update. I gave in and bought a set of M/T Drag Radials
These are the newer tread design that looks very stealthy. "It's just a stock ZR-1" <wink> I'm too scared to launch the car at 4K rpm so maybe I'll stick around the 2500 rpm mark. Anyway, I'm off to Discount Tire to get these bad boys mounted. Stay tuned...

Re: Taking my Z to the 1/8 mile track on Wednesday
i have used these in the past . you will have to do a good 4-5 second burn out before your first pass to get them to hook . i tried all sorts of tire pressures . when i went to 15lbs the felt real squirrily at the top end . since you are only going to the 1/8 mile you might get away with it . i stay around 17-19 lbs and tried to launch around 2000 rpms and roll my foot into the throttle so i was floored in about 10 ft from the starting line .if i got more agressive they just blew the tires off the car. hope this gives you a little guideline info on these tires and car . good luck and have a great time .
