There is a sequence you have to go through prior to shutting the car down. The car has to be shut off in nuetral with the e-brake on. If you do not follow the steps the remote start will not work

But somebody could later put the car in gear after the shutdown sequence has been done? Just speaking for myself here, but I can't take the risk that maybe I'll unwittingly forget, or that somehow - however unlikely - the car could be placed into gear. That's why I decided to forgo the convenience. It's not like I'm leaving it out in the cold winter and need to warm it up for 10 minutes in the morning while I have my coffee.

I'd never say pansy to a guy that drives the car. The wife & I traded the '69 Z28, which was cool but we NEVER drove, for the ZR-1. A/C, power steering, halfway decent seats, overall drivability won out. We use the ZR-1 as a daily driver. The beast was meant to be driven, so who are we to out-think the engineers?
Sounds like you've taken good precautions on the remote start. I still wouldn't do it because I'm sure I could find a way to have the car remote start its way into a brick wall. I'm really good at stuff like that.

Cool, I've been looking for somebody in N. Dallas to do my 91 ZR-1. Want the keyless, and full stereo setup, so it looks like I've found the source now.

Looks great another option is the Viper 211HV. Ive been running that on two C4s now for about 5 years. No issues
