I'm running valvoline racing synthetic 10w-30 (the street legal stuff, available at Autozone). From everything I've read it looks like a very good choice for the ZR1.
I've always been a fan of valvoline and try to avoid Mobile 1 after a camshaft & lifter failure on my jeep (2004 wrangler 4.0L w/ 48K miles, ran only mobile 1 5w-30 changed every 3k miles until failure). I agree that the Mobile 1 HM is probably a fine choice for our cars, and honestly the oil is not completely to blame for the failure on my jeep (hardness issue from the factory probably), but guess I hold a grudge
