Has anyone experienced any issues with vapor locking?

I think in the next week or two I am going to order injectors. We have had the car since 94 and to my knowledge have never been replaced. When we replaced the plugs a few weeks ago there were two... and I don't recall off the top of my head which cylinders it was, that were running pretty hot.

While I am at it, will change the filters as well.

A few years ago I replaced the vacuum pump. Can someone give me an idea of when this thing should come on? I am wondering if this thing has gone bad again also?

Can someone shoot me a link to Kurt or Jerry for the gaskets.

Finally, do you know of anyone that sells a total package for injectors, coil packs, gaskets, vacuum hoses etc.?

I would love to do all this myself, I just don't know if time will permit. If anyone has suggestions for someone in TN that works on these cars I wold appreciate it.

Thanks.

Well that's my .02.

I had 2 bad injectors and the bucking got worse and worse as the car heated up. it was like driving a washing machine

I'd suggest you take your car to Jim Van Dorn's shop (AutoMasters) in Bowling Green, KY. http://www.automastersofbg.com/

He's just an hour trailer ride north of Nashville.

The vacuum pump should turn on with the key turned to ON, and run for about 5 seconds, at which point it should turn off. If it doesn't run at all, there's a problem with the wiring or the pump. If it runs continuously, then there's a vacuum leak somewhere under the plenum, most likely.

Hey Guy. DO yourself a favor. Take the car to a real mechanic and don't start replacing parts. YOu'll save a ton in the long run. I've seen it over and over.
We are 60 miles north of Nashville off I-65, next to the Corvette Plant.

Jim,
What's the best avenue of approach from a diagnostic stand point? Would you test fuel pressure first? Check resistance on the injectors first? Could be the plugs I suppose...

Well, first thing I do is drive it. My butt tells me where to look. Misfire, etc. V isual on plugs and wires, if/when plenum comes off, nice thorough inspection and testing procedures.

No guesses, no installing wasted parts.
