Re: Nj Zr1 owners.
Hi Guys,
New Z owner from NJ here. Picked up a mint 95 Polo with 14K on it in October. You guys may have seen it on Ebay. It was in Toms River. Upgraded from a 92 Polo LT1 with 16K to get it. Love the Z! Hopefully this won't be the garage queen the 92 was. |

Re: Nj Zr1 owners.
Congrats on your car, Im pretty convinced I wanted to get the 91 from Rogers however many folks are telling me to get a 405 hp car. What are the down falls of the 91? Im not looking to race it and beat the snot out of it. Just want to show it and drive it. I just want a low mile, unmolested zr1. I dont like the 1990 its looks dont do much for me. I was really considering a 1994 zr1 with 29k miles on it. It has the following issues, no painted roof, was damaged, plug wires are not stock, owner not sure if he has owners kit and window sticker, car has some scratches and two small blisters on the right quarter panel. Im not body guy but it looks like a glass issue. Other wise the car is very nice. Car is otherwise stock except for chip for fans. Rick 95 zr1 for nj also looked at this car and did not buy it. The guy wants 33k for it. What would you do? I looking for some advise here from anyone who will share it.
91 1800 miles perfect car 39k or 94 has minor issues 33k. Is the 405hp car really worth it. Maybe someone can shed some light on all the issues with the 91 cars for me. I know small things like vaccume lines etc. needing to be zip tied and a chip for the cooling fans to come on at 200 degree's. Ray |

Re: Nj Zr1 owners.
Hey Ray just be patient! The car for you is out there somewhere. Heck it took me a yr to get my act together enough to get one. If you have any Q's post'em up the members will help.
Common issues section over at the Net will give you the skinny on all mod yrs. They all have the vacuum issues, the 90 thru 92(?) have the old injectors that will quit because of the alcohol & the rest is C4 stuff mainly. Oh, 405 hp sounds better than 375 hp! Other than those two issues the rest of what can go wrong is sensor failure. The motor from a mechanical aspect is just too well made to fall apart. Maintenence, preventative that is, is the key, JMHO. The rest is a crap shoot...whatever is gonna break is gonna break. Tom
