I'm just trying to learn as much as I can. There are so many knowledgeable people on here. Tyler and Eric never cease to amaze me at how much they know about the prototypes.

No dice, cant find that early magazine. Was there a Vette Vues magazine back then?Thats what I think it was.I did find on article on the DR-1 and in the same magazine there is story on the cars in France. There is a small front shot of a Metallic Red car and all the other pictures are of the Bright Red car.

That picture was taken by Jim Dunne from Popular Mechanics. He was the first person to capture the King. Vette Vues has been around since 1974.

Here is one of 4 DRM France cars:

Cars # 9 to #13 were Bright Red so there were at least 5 Bright Reds. Car #1 was DBM. Car #5 was DRM.

I posted this in the Generic Prototype thread, but it sort of fits here too:

This is an 1988 Prototype most likely EX5010.

Looks to me like copper metallic, but It may just be an odd color offset due to the magazine printing and scanning. It is an 88.

People used to refer to this color as cinnamon red,Ive got a friend that bought a convertible new in 86 that was this color, still has the car.A new aspect of seeing these early pictures is seeing ZR-1s that were never offered in these production colors.
