The car already had an AVIC when I bought it, so it had Pioneer ~ 4.5" Coax speakers. You could probably go w 5.5" as well.

I've seen 4 or 5 cars burn up before my very eyes only one was mine a Fiat 124 fuel injection line broke.

I put two in my car. The cabin filled up quickly and thought the engine was on fire. No it was a smoldering front speaker amplifier. Had to rip off the cover (costly to replace) to get to the source...

Eckler's sells a replacement that is guaranteed to keep working...

When you guys upgraded the head unit (swapped out the old Bose head unit / CDM unit) did you end up keeping the bose amplifiers or go with standard speakers? I am looking at ditching the stock unit since the CD player doesn't work and only a back speaker puts out a little sound.

If you guys ended up bypassing the amps how did you go about getting full power to the speakers?
