It needs new injectors and there is problem with the check valve that is not letting the secondaries work. Where do you take your Z. I grew up in Lake Arrowhead so I am very familar with Canton. Is there anyone local?

I appreciate everyones help. I will probably just take it down to Tom Jumper and have them work on it. I was hoping to find a local guy who would let me watch him work on it so I get be more knowledgable about the car.

Do any of you guys in GA get together? After I get my car fixed I would like to meet some of you guys.

It isn't that I don't think you guys know what to do or how to fix a ZR1. It is more that I don't want to bother someone with the troubles I have with this car anymore than just getting info.

Does anyone know where David F is working now?

Roger, Hi, I'm the perpetual NOOB!

I'd like to relate something to you that I witnessed at Carlisle this year. Please, I'm saying this in the humblest way I can.

Saturday, 9/25 it was 97* in the shade w/ 100% humidity and I watched Messers Haibeck & Haibeck and Mr. Gordon Kilibrew plus a bunch of other Z owners sweatin' bullits over a members Z that had an idle issue. Actually I'm no mechanic but they were working near the TPS.....for an eternity these guys were at it till they got it as right as could be done under the conditions and with what simple tools they could muster up. That day I really learned what Brothers of the Beast meant.

I've had my Z since late 04 and I found that we, the brothers of the beast, are the best source to solve our issues short of the few real ZR-1 specialists that we have. Oh, yea, those ZR-1 specialists.....most own ZR-1's!

To tell ya the truth I know that these guys here from your neighborhood were typing with one hand while reaching for their tools with the other. The down side is that ya gotta feed & water them and your hands will need some go-jo......but the upside is that you will have learned about your car first hand.....and that's better than letting some one else learn on your car.

Okay I apologize for sticking my nose in! I proly shouldn't have posted this too! The thing is, I have learned that this is the truth.

Tom,

I think I am begining to understand what you are talking about. Everyone has been great to respond with helpful information and when guys started offering to actually help do the work it caught me off guard.

I guess where I am coming from is that, I would rather get to know these guys first before I start asking for help. I would feel like a leech having just started and having these guys bail me out of my troubles.

I hope to get the car running well and them hopefully meet some of these guys. It seems like a great community of people to be a part of.

Anyway, I have rambled enough. Just wanted to let ya know where I am coming from.

Roger

Hey....that was me Gordon and I were trying to adjust the Idle Stop on a members car, it was a very small area to work and didnt have the right tools, but we were able to run the idle stop up as far as the bolt travel would go, still needed a little more but we were out of threads on the bolt!
