Hopefully the seller knew what they had and it wasn't some old biddy selling her late husbands car he bought new for $3k 50 + years ago.

Very nice original late 54. Probably a vin around 3200 or later. I can help find an air cleaner lid for you. I can also find other parts if needed.

Yes, the seller, a kindly elderly lady and her son, did know exactly what they had so it was not fire sale. I don't know for sure, but I think it was a little more than 42K and less than 47k. Lou might know as it's a close bro of his.

That's what some Judge from the NCRS said that it's unmolested. The NCRS guy is a friend of Lou's and some national level judge I think. Lou never has any time to post so I'll pick his brain and post up the story. I don't think the seller was the original owner. I don't think there is a way to find out for sure how many owners the car has had. I think it's lived in CT all it's life though.

God the paint is terrible and the chrome(?) trim has a ton of age on it and some rust spots. There might even be a repair in the left headlight area, it's hard to tell as the paint looks waaaay better in the picts than in person. I swear I'd have to be paid to take this thing. The motor runs like a clock, but has a ton of oil leaks. Usual spots, valve cover, side covers & oil pan is what I saw right off the bat. The trans is leaking but works fine & the rear leaks some also.

The interior is astoundingly intact hide wise for the age of the car, oh and the top & door panels are in good order also. That's about all I know until I speak to Lou's friend the new owner....he has some antique vehicles....he has a Z28 that I told him if it's missing just check my home address! I could write a book about the cars this guy and his father owns, well maybe not a book. But I'll tell you the Z is a 68 RS/SS w/DZ4 pkg, sitting next to a SS Nova 69 396/375 4spd, sitting next to a 66 SS Nova 327/365 4spd and they are all correct cars!!!!! Oh the 1911 Packard is also in the same garage Jake Ruppert from the NY Yankees was the original owner and Lou's Bro is the 3rd owner. You gotta see his C2 also it's a 66 327/365 4spd numbers matching car!

That's all for now. Maybe Lou will have some time to post up better info on the 54. Later Bros!

Tom

Brett, thank you. I can't speak, but when I find something out for sure I'll shout out to you. I told the guy I knew someone who specialized in the Blue Flame cars and he got all excited until I said you were in Indiana
Thanks Buddy!

[QUOTE=jrd1990zr1;128495]Tom,

That looks like a very unmolested 54?? Panel fit is how they came in that era. It might be a NCRS Survivor candidate.

Tom, Thanks for posting and as usual Tom is always around to help when needed. I can't thank him enough.
John, I have Drew going over there with me to crawl in the exhaust & out the carb. You know he loves that. It will be interesting to see what he has to say. I checked most of the numbers on it & it is all there.
Brett, You are close it is like 3007. The glass is dated June 1954. We will get in touch with you as we start to dig into this and as we build a laundry list of parts.
I love finding stuff like this!!!

Lou,

I am glad you connected with Drew from the NorthEast Chapter. He is a very knowledgeable resource.
