Re: Car Investment
There is only one way that I know of to make certain that your investment in a car will yield a positive return over it's purchase price.
1- buy it 2- keep it 3- do not sell it before you have owned it for 50 years minimum. If it 's value goes up sooner, and most will, simply consider yourself brilliant and a financial genius. Too late for me, but I do try to teach the younger ones. That is all that you need to know. Marty |

Re: Car Investment
Hello from Switzerland,
What I read in your posts, I think it is a good idea to keep our '64 Impala SS 409/425 hp. We own this car since 1967 when my father bought this Chevy with very low miles. The car was as good as new and it is still in very fine condition. Once the engine had to be replaced, but it is not as many times seen some kind of Chevy V8, it was again a 409/425 hp. So this is the only aspect that purists would not be so happy about. On the other side the car is all original, even the carpets are extremly good. And it drives like new. All the time garage kept, a second owner car. Franz

Re: Car Investment
Franz- That is such a rare and unique car, even here in the U.S. You must get some interesting reactions from your fellow Swiss.

Re: Car Investment
Hello from Switzerland,
Thank you for your answer. Indeed, this car gets a lot of thumbs up, but what I think is really unique, is, that we own this car for 50 years now and that we are the second owners. I know the whole history of the car. This is unique for such a car, I think. 20 years ago we owned a '70 Dodge Challenger 383 Magnum. I think we shouldn't have sold this car. It wasn't a Chevy, but it was a great car. From today's view it was a mistake! Franz

Like hearing these stories where the car stays in the family for a long time. That 409 is a keeper too. And 59 more cubic inches than our ZR-1s! Reminds me of this Beach Boys Song: Shes real fine my 409 Nothing can catch her Nothing can touch my 409 When I take her to the track she always turns in the fastest times My four speed dual quad posi-traction 409 |
