Default Re: bilstein shock re-valve

I didn't have to purchase any additional parts on my 91's rebuild, but they had less than 30k original miles on them. The shocks definitely needed a rebuild even by then...don't know if by age and oil leakage over the years or because due to the car being slammed close to the bumpstops that made the shocks ride at the end of their range that wore them out.

My spring wishlist includes getting an extra pair of front FX3's I recently obtained custom valved a little stiffer than what I currently have. Since I just drop them off at their back door, I will try to get the low-down on the rear rod availability and if they think the Germans will ever make more, I will let you know.

$738 shipped for a brand new set is quite good.

Latest internals and valving, factory perfect paint plus new shock warranty. I'm sure Bilstein will be discontinuing production of our FX3 type shocks at some point.

Your are correct on availability Phil. They do not appear to have any Blistein's w/ FX3 for the early cars....90-92, I assme there is a difference in the shocks between early and and late models. I would say...get them while you can fellas!!

Shocks for the early years may still be available at e-shocks.com. I bought a set of 4 last month ... when I first called, they were temporarily out but received more the following week.

e-shocks - $770 shipped.

They are different. Amount of shaft rotation, I believe, is different.
