Thank you for your thoughts. I definitely do not disagree with you one bit on that. I welcome those opinions and would definitely like to hear more of them.

While of course it is your car and therefore you should do whatever makes you happy, I also lean towards maintaining the cars provenance.
Tuner cars are more or less unique.
Why then make it vanilla?
Imagine for a moment taking a 427 Yenko Camaro and making it look stock.
Extreme example?
Yes.
However, 50 years from now someone will be very happy that you retained that which makes it special.

Thank you guys, I value those opinions. Looks like I'll leave the stripes since I do agree with everything that has been said. Thank you!

I have the car in the air now and it's amazing how clean and well-cared for this car is. The original build from Auto Masters retained the stock exhaust manifolds and cats. The car now has headers.

I'll be spending the next few weeks working to fix the neglected clear coat. I think it will come out great

Making some great progress on the paint restoration. I'm thankful that GM clearcoat is quite thick! I've done some cutting and initial polishing and it's coming back to life very nicely.

I'll hopefully have some pictures up soon!
