i've been considering this for my roof as the pad has deteriorated to the point the headliner is sagging.

When Dave J and I drove Yun black 94 the interior noise was 90db.
140 db is extremely loud
What kind of instrument did you use to take these readings?

What i see is extra weight.and loss of gas mileage and performance.

Now a Chevy Cruze will keep up with you maybe kick your butt

Adding more weight to an already heavy beast Rob you trying to break the record for heaviest Z,you shooting to hit 2 tons.

It isnt really about quiet, It is more about some sort of drive-ability, The Interior noise level was 140db. 90db at 8 hour causes hearing loss. I want to be able to drive my car and not lose my hearing at the same time.

Pete the added weight is 76 pounds (.07 seconds) If I lost 100# the added gain is .10 seconds, I would still be up .03 seconds. End result instead of running a 12.0 flat, It is a 12.2 car. Not even remotely fast by any means.

Device used was a SPL LAB PRO.

I will just have more engine work done that way I wont even have to go on a diet. On a serious note it was a very heavy Z to start with you have to add the 200# for the Callaway Aerobody.

Bob, I like your thought process about this. Also only race cars down hills and jack up the rear so that your Z is perpetually going down hill. It will be faster and offset the weight added. That is what I would do. LOL
Just kidding of course......
You mentioned hearing loss.... you aren't kidding, I had to stop at Wally World to pick up some ear plugs driving home. I already have ringing in my ears from flying helicopters.
