Re: Dreaded Fuel Pump Failure (I think...)
Pretty sure this is it.
1996 2500 Chevy Suburban 7.4L and 1995 Corvette LT1 use same pump. If you look up 1995 ZR-1 it shows the pumps AC Delco #19180770 X 2 http://rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php As you know you will need 2 of them. Pete

Re: Dreaded Fuel Pump Failure (I think...)
Or if you want to do the Bosch pumps: Bosch P/N 69225 these require making a relief slice in that plastic holder for the pump body, actually two cuts as these pumps are just a smidge fatter than the stock LT5 pumps. They work great though.
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php this the RockAuto listing. Tom Sorry the rock auto site seems to have a thing against a direct link. Just log on, press button for the catalog, click "parts search", then fill in the P/N, Brand name of mfg, type of part, and click find.

Re: Dreaded Fuel Pump Failure (I think...)
and the pumps that came with that set up were not very good. One Brother had a failure in less than a month and I had a failure in less than 6k miles! We both bought the Bosch pumps. I have to give credit for the research to the other Brother as he found the swap with the Bosch pumps.
The only thing I am leery about is that when I bought mine two yrs ago they were $90.00 each....I don't know what to say about the price being lowered now. I don't even recall for 100% sure where the Bosch pumps that I bought back then were made....china? or Mexico? or IDK. Sorry Ron! Tom

Re: Dreaded Fuel Pump Failure (I think...)
Zip Products sells the "remake" of the OE, LT5, pump assembly. Actually, it's more of an update rather than a remake as the Zip pump assmebly includes some modern technology in certain places.
I have a Zip pump assy in my 95. It's been there for about a year and about 5500 miles. It has worked flawlessly. The PN is GT-406. I stored my OE pump assy as a spare but...any of the OE pump assys still in service are a minium of 16 years old...beyond the pump's design life, I would think. Earlier in the thread someone pointed out that if the car has seen a lot of operation with low fuel levels, ie: below 1/4-tank, pump life can be shortened because they run hot. Also, if the car has spend any length of time more than a year not running, sometimes that causes a decrease in pump life due to gasoline turning to "varnish".

Re: Dreaded Fuel Pump Failure (I think...)
Thanks for the help...
I bought a pump and swapped it out this afternoon. She runs great! Man she has some torque for a N/A car. Cheers, RH
