Maybe the 70- 72 ZR-1, but anymore all you get is a huge plastic cover over everything......

The ZR-1 was raced in World Challenge and made a start at LeMans. Check out the history of Pirate Racing.

I stand corrected......( spent lunch hour reading up on Pirate racing ) I was surprised to learn that Kim Bakers #75 was the only ZR-1 to win a professional road race. The Mosport 24 hours of Canada.

The C3 ZR-1 was an LT-1 w radio delete. I worked for GM at the time and had one on order but the local Chevrolet Zone office would not drive it as a company car and so had me change order to a base coupe.

That most likely was a ZR-2,only a few were made. I’m all for exposure but we all know there was and will always be only one King. It’s all about the heritage and respect. It’s been exciting living in this day and age of modern performance. To watch HP gradually wise from 165 and with each year it would creep up a little more. 205 in 84 the 230 in 85 then 245 and then 375 in 90. I think the HP mystic started getting stale in 09 with the C6 Z and now were used to it. But those of use that remember the smog days of the late 70s it was exciting to see something come back that most thought were dead. Long live the King ZR-1!

Dom,
I have a 1970 LT1 with a ZR1 option. Has a radio delete, F41 suspension, larger radiator, transistor ignition and a different 4 barrell. The one I have is a convertible.

Nelson,

Would love to see it some time. Loved the original LT-1. Of course I had no idea how valuable this car would be. I bought my 72 Coupe for $4400 including tax.
The stock LT-1 carb was a Holley 780. What did they use for the ZR?
