Re: Fried Bose front speaker amp
The car already had an AVIC when I bought it, so it had Pioneer ~ 4.5" Coax speakers. You could probably go w 5.5" as well.

Wow! Glad to see your car did not go up in smoke Phil! You and Dom are making me think about upgrading the entire stereo system with new technology. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Fried Bose front speaker amp
I put two in my car. The cabin filled up quickly and thought the engine was on fire. No it was a smoldering front speaker amplifier. Had to rip off the cover (costly to replace) to get to the source...
Eckler's sells a replacement that is guaranteed to keep working... Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry

Re: Fried Bose front speaker amp
When you guys upgraded the head unit (swapped out the old Bose head unit / CDM unit) did you end up keeping the bose amplifiers or go with standard speakers? I am looking at ditching the stock unit since the CD player doesn't work and only a back speaker puts out a little sound.
If you guys ended up bypassing the amps how did you go about getting full power to the speakers? Thanks for your help! |
