Now that you ask, I do not know for a fact, but always assumed that it was to disengage the skip shift featrure that was part of the ZF 6-Speed.

Agree. I have not been able to get a confirm fron Graham et all but its the only thing that makes sense.

Do you have the OEM LT5 emblem that was on the rear bumper? I am interested in a couple of those.

Jerry, I have a lot of '89 Z stuff, but not one of those. Very rarely I have seen them for sale, and If I come across one, I will let you know.

if it doesn't have to be oem, zzzzzzzr1 (sorry david i can never remember how many z's you have in your name) has some for sale

I picked up a dark red one from him at carlise...and other then not having the right color red for my car.....i couldn't be happier
