Looked like a nice car that just needed a handfull of things. Great to hear it's mostly sorted out except for some minor stuff. Welcome to the Brotherhood too!
Yes, that's the one. He wanted a lot for it, but came down to $15k, REALLY glad I didn't give him more than that.
There is a lot more wrong with the car than the seller admitted to, but it is fixable. The interior is toast, baked in the southern California sun, doesn't look like it was garaged at all. But I now know that the drive train is in very good condition, thanks to Paul.
The HVAC system is totally dead, as are both seats. The seats, inside door panels and carpeting are all real bad.

Yeah. I think that car is going to be a keeper! Looking forward to seeing it after the restoration (interior) is complete.

Good luck, Dan! And, congratz on your "project"!

It's great that Paul was able to give the car a look. Mine made some sounds I wasn't crazy about so I sent it to Marc H. He found some little stuff and cleared up some other small things I was already aware of but mechanically all was well. I'm glad someone experienced was able to say "Normal engine sounds" or I'd never have had a minute of peace with the car. The cosmetic stuff isn't too bad to do, glad the mechanicals are good and hope you are enjoying your car soon.

Every piece of interior carpet has to be removed & replaced, it is all damaged. Paul gave me the pointer of using a heat gun to remove the old. Anyone else have any ideas? I think the carpet will be the most labor & time intensive part of the project.

The part that is really bothering me is that the K&N air filter doesn't fit correctly. The engine can pull dirty air from around the edges of the filter housing. That's probably been that way since the engine upgrades, 12k ago.

Because the rear compartment in the rear of a Z is wider, the standard carpets are a little short. Call your supplier before ordering. They may have to provide extra carpeting.

Very Funny!

No it is not!

Even the hatch glass will fit a standard corvette!

Yikes! Thats always tough when you get a situation like that. When I bought my 92 (base model) after I got it I discovered the FX3 light was on..... Someone had put a piece of tape over the light on the console under a 'corvette' plate on the info center. It was not a happy call with the P.O., but it all worked out in the end being only 1 front actuator that needed repair instead of a bunch of parts of the system; which is super costly.

Glad your stuff is all minor, and enjoy the process and REALLY enjoy your ZR-1!
