Re: Best sounding cams
My '94 has custom Web-Cam camshafts designed by a previous owner.
I believe they're roughly the following @ 0.050 lift. Not sure on the LSA. (Edited per Todd's observations.) Intake: 238* duration, .435" lift. Exhaust: 221* duration, .432" lift. Idle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhmimYEVaQA Dyno: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6PyzYl_LlE

248 exhaust wouldn't be a reasonable duration @ .050" lift, but also too short for total duration. i'd be curious to see the cam card on those.

Re: Best sounding cams
As was said before, there are three ways I know of to do cams on the LT5.
1) regrinding stock cams. Several guys go this route, especially on a stock displacement engine. In this type, the base circle of the cam is ground smaller by, say .030" maybe more, which translates into more lift and ability to cut it with more duration. The concern here is taking up the added clearance to the bucket lifter... there is only so much travel. Can require a valve job to raise the stem height. 2) welded stock cams. Not as prevalent, although I think one of the tuners uses that method. Web cams is the typical provider of this service. I don't have any first hand experience with welded cams. 3) new cores. These are usually machined from billet, although there were a limited number of unfinished chill-cast iron OEM cores out there several years ago. I use billet steel cores, made from high quality tool steel. These are expensive, but can be tailored to any profile needed for the application. Todd

Re: Best sounding cams
Cool. Thanks for posting that. Those all seem to be 238-239 ish duration at .050. That seems reasonable, although generally on 4-valve engines the exhaust duration would be significantly less than the intake duration.
.435 lift. I'm thinking these are welded cams, since you said Web Cams. Todd
