I just wish the magazine hadn't edited it so much. There were a couple of key parts they just slashed. One was the explnation of why the cam bearing bore thing was so difficult, ie: there were no cam bearings and the cams rode on the aluminum cylinder head material. Unfortunately, the curse of the freelancer is we can't better control editors. As for what's under the hood, er...engine cover of the mid-engine car, my WAG is a pushrod V8. Cadillac is developing a new DOHC engine but it's pretty small compared to recent Corvette engines. I don't think the engine will be able to make the power GM would like. My gut feeling is an atmosperic V8 of 450 horses with two electric motors driving the front wheels, each with 150-hp for a total of about 750-hp. Some have rumored the IC engine might be a V6 tt, but I'm skeptical of that. The 4G ZR-1, coming next year will have a further developed version of the current LT4 and it will likey be badged "LT5".
