Re: AC Expert question
Another hose assembly built incorrectly from Brad's Corvettes.
This time, the coupling nut that attaches to the condenser was American thread, like 90-93, vs Metric for 94-95..... Ugh...….. Anyone know the o-ring part number for the R12 compressor to compressor hose assembly? I'm going to swap the adaptors on the compressor and use one of the other wrongly built hose assemblies. At least those have the correct coupling nuts. The R12 compressor has o-ring grooves in the adaptor and will not accept the captured O-rings within the aluminum washers.

Re: AC Expert question
Got the o-ring part number from Mark H.
Talking with him, we have come to the conclusion that all these "NOS" hose assemblies are probably items that GM parts departments rejected. Now the bad parts are out there and the vendors selling them don't know they are wrong. I get the impression that these same vendors are restocking returned parts, even when informed they are wrong. What a 3 month nightmare trying to get ready for Carlisle! As always, buyer beware.

Re: AC Expert question
Quick note to update this thread...
Now have cold R134a AC. Ended up swapping the plate on top of the R134a Compressor with the one from my old R12 Compressor. Used the compressor hose assembly that had correct metric coupling nuts for the accumulator and condenser ends, and the incorrect R12 fitting on the compressor end. All other parts were correct 94-95 R134a AC stuff. Parts replaced (all 94-95 ZR-1): Condenser Evaporator Compressor Accumulator/Dryer All 3 hose assemblies All 3 switches. Orifice/filter Good Parts left over (90-93 ZR-1 R12 system) Evaporator All 3 hose assemblies All 3 switches (not sure if they all work) R12 Compressor is rebuildable (I think this is where my leak was, needs correct adaptor plate). If anyone needs any of the above, hit me up.

Re: AC Expert question
Need a condenser for mine, might want to take it off your hands if it's in decent shape.

Re: AC Expert question
Would be for a '90, so not sure if it'll fit.

Re: AC Expert question
Many thanks for hooking me up with a condenser to replace my busted one. A step closer to working A.C. Thanks also for oil change help (sorry about the "fountain" of oil though)!

No problem, already cleaned up. The Northeast guys should start our own mini mechanical group like the WAZOO guys. My garage is always open.

Re: AC Expert question
Question for you AC experts. Have a 92 but previous owner converted to R134. I think the AC compressor cycle switch is getting wacky and purchased a replacement to use with R134. Problem is it has metric threads and my car still has SAE. So far, all R134 switches have metric threads and R12 have the SAE threads which is what I need.
Am I looking for trouble using a R12 switch when my system is R134? I realize the pressures are set differently but looking for a solution.
