Kevin, That is an Austin-Healey.....I think it's a 3000 series. I should have looked closer. They are some what rare and valuable. I learned that from watching B-J on speed. I think it's Bob Varsha, he's a big fan & always talks about them.

They were, I think, in between an XKE's and the Triumphs in price & performance.

Tom Tom,
That early maroon MG is really a VW kit car!!! You can see the twin torsion bar front end in the picture. The Healy's look like the 3000 series, the older one may be a 100-6. I had 2 Healy's when I was a kid, both 100-4s, 1st one was a '56 with a 4 speed w/OD and the other a '55 with a 3 speed w/OD (the shift pattern was towards you, 1st was where you'd think to find 4th etc.) originally a truck trans w/the very low 1st "puller' gear pinned off. They went to a "proper" 4 speed in '56. The windshields folded flat into a "racing" position, VERY COOL, driving around with ski goggles on... Both cars, as memory serves me, were POSs but, hey, I was a kid and needed a sports car (everyone else had a '55 Chevy) and $125 for the '56 and $400 for the '55 was all I could afford. The $400 was a big stretch when you're making $1.25/hr part time after school... They were so low that even a pebble in the road would take off your muffler, I got real good and creative with baling wire... and of course there was Lord Lucas, "Lord of Darkness" to contend with. Those cars built "character"... My Healy's would be worth many thousands of $ if I had them today, even in crappy condition! I sold the '56 to a friend and the '55 was used as land fill by a friend's father after it broke down and I left it at his house for a couple months. I love telling that story to Healy owners at car shows!

ahhhh yeeess Lucas electrics......the Prince of Darkness! I knew a guy that had an XKE circa 67ish....couldn't use the headlights and the defroster at the same time!

I'm crushed about that MG. I thought I was lookin' at a real TC....oh well.

Have you heard anything from Scott?

Tom

Tom, that was a blast. Thanks for the great pictures. Maybe we can get a few Z's to show up this Sunday.

Start a thread with the details.....we need details.

Scott said that Sunday may work for him, and you know I'll be there to help set up!
