Porsche brakes on a Corvette? I joined this forum because I just bought a ZR-1. I'm a Porsche guy myself, so I have nothing against Porsche brakes per se. I guess Corvette guys have a bit of a different mentality than the Porsche nuts when it comes to modifications, because I dare say you'd NEVER see a Porsche wearing Corvette brakes -even if they were superior. GLWS!

Porsche brakes are usually Brembos and are used on many different cars. They just re brand them with their own logo

It's not the underlying manufacturer I'm talking about, it's the branding. Having a caliper on a Corvette the says Porsche is a bit odd to me. But that's just me. Excepting the dork who ruins a Porsche 914 by putting in a Chevy V8, I've not seen a Porsche with Corvette branded calipers. I'd laugh out loud at it if I had. In the Corvette world, this may be perfectly acceptable. If they read "Brembo", I guess it wouldn't seem as odd to me.

Actually this was a very popular upgrade back in the day because there were simply no larger brake options at the time. Remember we are talking about the early 90s here. As all things when you modify the performance numbers of the engines to 390, 415 and 441 sizes you also have to upgrade cooling and yes braking. At the time this option alone was at the 3K price point minimum and higher. Is it odd? Maybe.. but it was a very desirable upgrade at the time and adds to the car IMHO. GC

Compare this to the 90 Callaway currently listed. List your LIKES accordingly.
Similar power output
Upgraded Brakes on the 94
Mileage 20K vs 28K
Color White vs. Black
Plus the obvious model year changes we are all aware of ( 2 bolt vs 4 bolt, Black tag vs Blue tag ZF, Interior, Suspension, ABS and body shape. 1 of 448 vs 1 of 3049). What would you choice be if you had the chance ?

Thanks fellas.

I will put stock brakes on it if a buyer desires lesser performance.
