You have a link to the screen you used? can you add what you want? Are they predetermined areas/icons and or size or is it open to what you want? I guess it takes the signal from the existing DIC wiring or can you pic it up from the ECM as in adding a light or caption when the secondary's open.

Thanks

Parts I am using:

Donor DIC from a 1990 as i solders to the spots where the Lights would be

Arduino I am using is this one:

https://www.sparkfun.com/products/11113

I am using 8 DIO lines.. Not sure the active ABS is used though

I have 2 extra IO which would be good for Secondary detection..

Screen:

I am using an older version screen though

Very impressed. Thanks for the information. Looking at your radio/nav setup I guess you have done away with the power Key (Not needed if you have your prom default to on at startup)?
Did you just use the plastic printed CB from the back of the DIC as solder points?
I'm currently looking for a standard center dash for modding to see how big an LCD screen will fit and will leave out the power key as I don't need it. You just added another dimension to this.

No Power key is still there however my center bezel is custom.. I have a 95 console side on the driver side and 90-93 on the passenger side.

My interface board is big and might fit in behind the screen with a bunch of hacking. I need to trim the LCD Bezel to fit right on the DIC.

Yes I am currently using the Plastic PCB for solder joints. I also tap off the connector for the dimmer. But the LCD just has a high/low in my code. I have a new version of code to try, what I have will not always work and sometimes works inverted.. I have a bunch of changes I made last night

A bit off topic but what Radio/nav did you go with, I love my old Bose but the new apple play setups are so nice!

Here is an updated video.. Code has been updated although the initial key on is slower. I am working to get the SES as the priority on key on.

You can see the power key in this video.. working out a spot for the interface PCB

I like it. What else are you going to add to the DIC?

Not really sure yet.. The problem is the Arduino runs serially so the more I add the 'slower' the response, especially since the screen is a serial communication.

Since I have a C60 car, I thought of adding temperature sensors for inside and outside. but I do like the idea of a display for the secondaries. but need to add wiring out to the motor for that, this way I could actually know that they are opening..

Right now the bigger challenge is finding the right Font for any text and then getting that to work on the screen.

I think I found a different setup. a new screen and arduino that will work much better, assuming I can have multiple images at a time. also be faster

Plus the screen will fit better in the spot I have for it
