long ago, in a different world for me i stopped at a red light at ~0300. not many cars on the road, and the one i was driving just happened to be a fully marked, light bar and decal equipped state issued car, #728 actually. A car pulled behind me, backed up, blasted around me through the redlight.......

turn on your tv and watch some of these dumbest people shows. these shows are full of people who *** end police cruisers on the side of the road, even though they have their light bar flashing.

Stupid people do stupid things, and what you feel is safety inspiring may actually have a moth to the flame effect.

I drive over 50k miles a year, through most major metropolitan areas, and still see no need for these. The year, and area have zero bearing on people and dwhua's (driving with head up ***).

As far as shining what where, i own my actions, and am pretty damn well equipped for anyone who wishes to escalate a situation they themselves created. if you wish to make me miserable to give yourself a little added sense of security you should also be prepared to deal with owning your own actions. Thinly veiled threats carry as much weight to me as peoples opinions on my possessions, or opinions.

What I offered was just my opinion, no need to take it personal we have them. It's a open forum, and as such it is open to all opinions, at least that is my understanding.

Uh yeah, I do hold my personal safety and my family's above any one else's. I think most people do.

I didn't take anything you said personally nor was I offended by anything you said. I don't see how or why you would take any of what I wrote as a "thinly veiled threat" but hey that's on you. I was just trying to make the point that provoking a situation sometimes has unwanted consequences, especially when dealing with people you don't know.

To the OP, get the LEDs taillights, you won't regret them and they are very easy to install. Just make sure you get the flasher "EL-12" from your local auto parts store.

I dont want the taillights, just the LEDs in the 3rd brake light.I will gladly annoy somebody if it means NOT having to repair my car.

That's what I was saying a few posts ago. The 3d brake light LEDs aren't much brighter than the stockers.

To avoid getting hit in the rear by AZZHOLES who cant drive and apparently cant see brakelights as well. After 4 rear end collisions in Phoenix in a 5 year period this was my solution. So far so good

They are not but the LEDs should last the lifetime of the car. However the rear lights are very bright.

Custom 3rd brake light.

I shortened and rewired a 3rd brake light from a Uplander. I used the clear lens and LED board from the Uplander but used the OEM red lens.

It is not cheap.. the Uplander assembly is ~$80 new

I could mod one for you if you want.

only thing is modding the OEM wiring, as the OEM Light PCB and reflector are removed. I added the connector mate to the vette harness to connect in the light.

the uplander light is 12 LEDs, I shorten it to 9, but the OEM light was 3 gangs of 4 LEDs, I made it 3 gangs of 3..
