Re: NCM HPDE at VIR
good comment about drinking lots of fluids. Depending on the weather you are out there all day. As I recall my day started getting to the paddock around 7 a.m. then tech inspection which is brief then drivers meeting and then the various classes would get on the track. With four 25 minute sessions scheduled for my group by the last one it was 4:30 pm and I think it was sunny and in the 70's for weather but the paddock has no shade and you are out all day one way or another. We all had lunch together, all classes, in their upstairs restaurant in buffet style and that was shaded but there's a fair amount of focus on track and some stress and you do go through some liquids. A July day with heat and humidity on the Va/NC border would be even worse than early May when I did it.
Good advice on the liquids...also be sure your tire pressures are right and slightly over inflated. my 76 was slow for the track but a unique experience for me none the less. I am planning to drive my Z down May 4,5 and watch the Track Dayz as some other ZR-1's usually run them. I won't race but will watch others. it's a neat little track.

How about a ZR-1 track day with in TDE or any of the other groups like APEX? They run TWS, H2R, TMS, CoTA, MSR Cresson? OR NOLA is still somewhat close for the TX crew? If you think we will have interest PM me and we can start a thread. Daniel |
