There are several places close to I-80/I-57 junction to stay, and you'd be within a few minutes of the BULT FIELD airport in Monee.

And FYI for anyone still interested, there are still a handful of slots still available for the Sunday June 22 shootout. $195 to drive (unlimited number of runs, time/weather permitting). To watch or RUN, come join the fun!

Update: As of 4/7 there are only 12 DRIVER openings left for the 1/2 mile shootout at Bult Field in Monee, IL. Some of the FBI's WARRIORS will run on June 22nd, and need your support! The event is sponsored by WANNAGOFAST.COM. If you only do one track event this year, this one should be the one to do - or at least come and watch!

Oh, BTW... There are at least 2 if not 3 MORE that have indicated I (to me) they're going to be racing that are not reflected on the poll. That would bring the racers to 7 or possibly 8 with 6-8 more coming to watch! Looks like an excellent showing again - wouldn't want to miss it!! Anywayz, if your one that hasn't posted up on the poll, please do as we're on the cusp of becoming a sponsor for this event; complete with a tent and banner(s) etc. That would give the ZR-1 Registry a lot of exposure nation wide!

Looks they're addressing one of the issues from last year. The announcing sucked.

"We are proud to announce that Popular Car Journalist Matt Farah will be the Official Announcer for the June 21-22nd Chicago 1/2 Mile Shootout! He is the creator of The Smoking Tire (The Smoking Tire (http://www.thesmokingtire.com)) and involved with the production and hosting of the very popular Drive Network on Youtube, as well as Garage419. You may have also seen him on "The Car Show" on Speed Channel a couple years ago!"

The event is full and closed to new drivers. Unfortunately for me I have to have another surgery on my hand next week and won't be able to participate now. If anybody wanted to do this, but waited too long, please PM me. I will sell my Sunday June 22nd spot for face value. They are transferable; I also noted this on their facebook page. If nobody is interested, I will be able to use it in October, they don't refund, but they will allow me to transfer it to the fall date, which I think is nice of them.

They got rain later in the pm on Saturday but tomorrow looks good. Based on last year, Pete would have taken a GT500. Marc would have given him a good run.
