thanks for all the feedback on the aluminum flywheel. Each of you make very good points and I will take them into consideration. I have a stock LUK clutch and pressure plate with about 2000 miles. I was looking to be able to rev up faster than I already do. I like the idea of less mass on the flywheel so I will think things out. There is nothing wrong with my setup at all. If I had any issues with my clutch and pressure plate I would certainly pull the trigger on the lightweight flywheel. I will see how things look after the holidays.

Thanks again,

BUT ED, there is something wrong with your setup . It doesn't rev fast enough. Must be replaced.

yeah I know. I am trying to be prudent with my spending. I usually buy first and ask questions later so I will think on this. Being a guy who mods everything on wheels, I must check myself because I have proven to be a bit of an addict when it comes to modding cars. I bought a nice stock 1 year old mustang lx 5.0 convertible and then I bought under drive pullies,,, then flowmaster mufflers..etc.........85K later I had a 1200 undrivable monster. I can't let the mod junky devil sitting on my shoulder keep convincing me time an time again. I hope I am old and wise enough to overcome those temptations.

Yeah-but... With just a leeetle bit o' porting n headers n free-flowing exhaust an a tune you could have over 510 chp with a stock bottom and cams...an nobody would even suspect it
until you stomp on the unsuspecting!!

Exactly where I drew the line before I even picked up my Z. At least for the immediate future

best to let someone else do the mods/spend the time and busted knuckles and money, then buy the car for the price of a stocker/the older you get Ed the smarter you get/

Thank God my car already had most of that done because I knew I would be modding right away to maximize the power. Porting, headers, free flow exhaust, chip etc.. already done. I would like to port the heads and add a light flywheel in the future...gotta be prudent....must think things through.. a thousand points of light... sound like somebody you might know?? remember george bush sr.? What I really want to do is a full 415 forged built motor with radical cams and a small shot of nitrous to fend off vipers and hellcats. Thats what I'm talking about!! time to take my medicine I am having a relapse!
