Re: Best Sounding Exhaust for the ZR-1
After a while with my set up, which is long tube headers, no cats, x-pipe and Borlas mufflers I am thinking I want something a little quieter. Does anyone have experience with Flowmasters on the LT-5?

Re: Best Sounding Exhaust for the ZR-1
My first 91 was done by my friend Jeff. He used the small tube Watson headers and the old 3 inch B&B and I thought it was the best sounding. With the 4.10 gears it had that resonance everyone complains about but I loved it cause I'm deaf and just love loud. It was a strong running car with no major engine mods.
So now the new 91 I have has the long tube headers , no cats, and the 2.5 Corsa that Mark installed when he did his engine package. It sounds really great to me. I was considering changing it out to a B&B but I like the older ones. I think the best thing is to not screw with what Mark did especially after seeing the dyno sheet.

Re: Best Sounding Exhaust for the ZR-1
I have the Flowmaster exhaust that was designed for the ZR-1. I found the system on eBay, it was brand new without mufflers. I put Flowmaster Delta Flow Series 50 mufflers on. I think it sounds great, to top it off I put Flowmaster chromed angle exhaust tips on. If you can’t find the Flowmaster exhaust you could still go with the Delta Flow Series 50 mufflers.

Re: Best Sounding Exhaust for the ZR-1
It appears BB and Corsa are the two most used exhaust systems on ZR-1's. Wondering if Corsa has less drone than the BB? Thanks

Re: Best Sounding Exhaust for the ZR-1
B&B (old style) is very loud with lots of drone.
Corsa cancels much of the drone, and as a high pitched shriek at top end. It’s really very subjective, a matter of personal taste. I have Watson’s, no cats, X pipe, and 3” B&B’s deep and nasty. Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry

Re: Best Sounding Exhaust for the ZR-1
I think my modified LT1 stock exhaust system is great . I removed my power effects system so i could install exhaust cut outs. Brought a used LT1 exhaust system, removed resonator made my own " H " pipe and added 3 in cut outs
just before the mufflers. I did not want the spare carrier so cut outs are in a good location. Switch on center consul opens or closes the cut outs a little or a hole lot . I'am running Jeal Headers. I'll be at Tony D's this Oct the 20th. here is a pic. of my system. John 1990 white/ black # 2546 one of a few auto ( 4l80E ) EQ. ZR-1's |

Re: Best Sounding Exhaust for the ZR-1
I replaced the mufflers with 16" of chambered pipe; now have the C2 side pipe kind of sound except louder.
