SAM/CH ZR-1,
Not car related but Mammoth Cave Park is near by. Great cave system, easy to explore and they have short, medium and long tours per your needs. Craig, |

It's a interesting proposal. We land on 9th May in Nashville at about 5.00 PM and stay over night. So we look for interesting places, pubs or bars to go. My hope is to find a restaurant, where we can eat tasty big steaks and bison meat. Maybe somebody of you guys have a idea? The same about Memphis. Are there people who can advice us where to go, beside of visiting Graceland? We plan to stay from Sunday the 10th till Tuesday the 12th. We also can leave one day earlier. On the way back from Memphis to Bowling Green, which route is the more interesting to drive. The route 40 (Memphis - Nashville) or another one? Is it worth to visit in Kentucky the facility Jim Beam? Or does anybody have another interesting idea? In Bowling Green we will check in on Wednesday the 13th May. And by the way: 2-3 Ladies will join us. Maybe somebody know interesting shopping malls or outlets? We are open for all kind of ideas and proposals in our tour planing.

Sam, my wife and I spent a week in Kentucky back in October and there is plenty to do. She wanted to see the sinkhole before they filled it in so we did the NCM tour as well as the plant tour.
We then headed to Lexington and on the way stopped by the Makers Mark distillery and the Woodford Reserve distillery (the oldest distillery in the USA). There are numerous distilleries that do tours. Once we were in Lexington we visited Keeneland Park which is one of the major horse tracks and took a tour which was really cool. One of the most amazing things we did was we took a guided tour of 6-8 of the top horse farms around Lexington. It takes most of the day and it is amazing. We visited the farm of Kenny McPeek who is one of the top trainers and were feeding some of the horses we had seen run in past Kentucky Derbys. The horse farms around Lexington are a great thing to visit. We then headed back west to Louisville and visited Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby Museum and took that tour as well as the tour of the Louisville Bat company in downtown Louisville. As far as malls and outlets we didn't visit any but there are a lot of antique shops to hit. Basically, I highly recommend spending some time in Kentucky if you have the opportunity. We loved our visit.
