the KOTH with the new younger upstart. I still like driving the ZR1 better but there is no doubt that 800 rwhp in a 3100 lb car is DAMNED exciting. hooking it up has proven to be a challenge. I turn the boost down to 10-13 psi and the thing still squirms and trips the traction control constantly. the active handling is kinda cool, and the car is tight as a drum.. the zr1 still gets my blood flowing like no c5 can but I was tired of waiting to "blow up" my LSV to TT it. I promised the Ms. I wouldn't tear into a perfectly good LPE engine just to make more power I really don't need and the TT Z06 cost not alot more than the TT ZR-1 project would for a turn key car. both are paid for now so the "vette bank" is pretty full. now that my daughter has the little S Box Mazda (my only practical car), my daily driver is a vette or a turbo buick.
the least of which is a 300 hp lt1 94 auto which still runs great with 80K miles. the car was bought from a fellow ZR-1 owner who now has my dunns head 95 zr1 from Mr. 95 ZR-1 himself. Ted Dempsey. I think ted may be "down" to 4 95s now, he has the american flag combo, red white and blue. god I love the 95 zr-1. a very refined and thrilling auto to be sure. I may slap an automatic in the z06 to help me hook it better and tame some of those power shifts which really just blow the tires off. I'll keep you guys posted. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
