Re: New Owners/National list of Z Shops
Looking for someone in my area that is willing to work on ZR1. I am located on Long Island and currently use Vette Doctors, his work is fine but the wait time is crazy. Looking for an alternative local tech who understands these cars.

SoCal
Pfaff Engineering Location: Huntington Beach Notes: Does not work on stock ZR-1s. Can assist with modding and increasing the HP only. JD Corvette Location: Bellflower Notes: They are dedicated to solely working on Corvettes. Claim they have worked on about 8-10 C4 ZR-1s in the last couple of years. Powerhouse Racing (specifically Edwin) Location: Lancaster (but does house calls in LA and OC) Notes: Seems like a nice guy, don't know a lot about him other than what the forums mention. |

Re: New Owners/National list of Z Shops
I also have to give kudos and praise to Aaron Scott at South Georgia Corvettes in Thomasville GA. I had my car there for a few days for various things and when I drove home it was a completely different and much improved car. He is very gracious and a genuinely nice guy and is very knowledgeable about the ZR-1-1 and LT5 as well as every other Corvette, and even Vipers if you're into those. He can do any routine servicing and repairs as well as any performance mods you want without hesitation, having built many high performance engines that would blow your mind. A highly recommended shop and I will be back when needed and might even just go back to visit and say hello. It's understandable why people come from so far away for him to work on their cars.

I called Steve Schroder at Crossed Flags a few weeks ago to see about having some work done and it appears he is moving.

Pagosa Springs is not a reasonable location for a performance shop, so my role going forward would be consultative. I've had the great pleasure and blessing to work on many C4'S over the past 4 years, developing lifelong friendships with many owners. They are truly unique and very few shops out there will try to learn how to tune and maintain them. I absolutely love the "real" LT-5! My '91 will forever remain with me until I give it to my son someday. Last C4 project involved complete LT-1 rebuild after it spun #6 rod bearing.. the former "builder" put a stock flexplate (externally balanced) on an internally balanced rotating assembly! Balance was off by 84 grams! Finding competent shops to work on the Gen2 SBC family and our LT-5 is getting very scarce.. I can see graham mastering the lt6 as he's an engineer ameritus and can figure it out and make it better, regardless of what it is. Graham, hope to see you again soon, the LSV needs love.

Re: New Owners/National list of Z Shops
LSV still isn't done. Damn shame too as I miss driving it.
another GB TT is just what the Dr ordered!!! I'm working on 3 vettes right now and none of em run. At least they will all be fast when done! just picked up a honey of a c5 with a built lsa engine with hard core callies internals (416) Upgrading that one to a D1X procharger the LSV, engine is together but the top end needs refinishing TTiX TT c5 Z06, getting new engine and clean up. Again having a bit of ZR-1 DTs as it's been a while.
